Updates

Now that the cold air has moved through Houston all groups should be back to our normal practice schedule. Listed are a couple dates to keep an eye on for the upcoming months.

MLK - No practice. The facility will be closed for the Holiday.

8 and Under Meet - Jan 17th at UH

9-14 Junior Meet - Jan 22nd - 24th at KATY

13 and Over Spring Champs - Feb. 19th - 21st at TWST

12 and Under Spring Champs - Feb 26th - 28th at KATY

There shouldn't be any more closures due to holidays until the end of May.

Rice Aquatics Master Swimmers,

In an ongoing effort to make the recreation center a safe and controlled environment we will be required to enter the facility with a Rice ID card. All recreation center patrons must swipe their ID upon entering to gain access. This process will be in effect starting Wednesday, January 13^th.

In order to comply with the recreation center policy all Rice Aquatics Master swimmers will need to go to the RUPD office any weekday between 7am-5pm before January 13^th. The cost of the ID is $10. In an effort to meet this policy Rice Aquatics will pay for the ID for any members that get their ID by Monday, January 11^th.

The recreation center’s policy will be enforced beginning this spring. A patron without an ID, who is on our roster will be given access one time for free, after that they will need to pay a $5 guest fee.

The RUPD station office is just inside campus at the corner of Stockton and University. There is RUPD business parking immediately in front of their offices. They will be in possession of a current Rice Aquatics Masters roster in order to determine your status. The office is open weekdays 7am-5pm.

Parents/Swimmers - We have been notified of a few changes we will need to make to our previous winter schedule due to REC Center staffing issues. Please read the following schedule. I apologize for the late notice on the changes being made this week and the effect it may have on your previously planned schedule.

PM Practices Monday - Wednesday

PM practices will be for Masters and Seniors 5:30-6:30 pm. All other groups will not have pmpractices.

Monday AM

Masters and Seniors - 6:00-7:15(30) am

Age Group 3 and 4 - 7:30 - 9:00 am

Tuesday AM

Masters and Seniors - 6:00-7:15(30) am

Age Group 3 and 4 - 7:15 - 8:45 am

Age Group 2 - 7:30 - 8:15 am

Age Group 1 White and Navy - 8:15 - 9:00 am

Wednesday AM

Age Group 1 - Practice Update

Parents - All Age Group 1's will not have practice this Friday. We have coaches gone for college meets and coverage will be low.

All Age Group 1's can attend practice today. Next weeks schedule will also be changed as well.

Monday- No Age Group 1 practice

Tuesday- All Age Group 1's can attend normal practice time.

Wednesday - All Age Group 1's can attend normal practice time.
