Early Owl Evaluations

"Early Owl" Swimmer Registration for SWAL Championship Swimmers: August 22nd 5:00 - 7:30 pm.

RICE Aquatics will be hosting an "Early Owl" evaluation for all swimmers who competed in the Championship Finals meet for SWAL this past June. We will begin taking reservations for the evaluations starting July 11th. Time slots will be first come first serve. Please email swimmerevals@riceaquatics.com the following:

• Swimmers Full Name
• DOB and Age
• Summer Swim Team
• Events Swam at SWAL Champs Meet

You will receive a conformation email with additional information regarding the evaluation. Once all available slots are filled swimmers will be directed to our regular Fall registration period.

MAC B and Under

Parents - Just a clarification on the Championship meets. Swimmers who have a BB time or above in an event can swim that event at Summer Champs @ FCST. They can also swim the event below or above that in distance as long as they have a time in the event.  Swimmers who do not have a BB time and are 12 and Under can swim at the Mac B and Under Champs meet. If you log in and your swimmer does not have events selected for the FCST Summer Champs meet, it is most likely they were not qualified for the FCST Summer Champs meet and will be swimming in the MAC meet. If this is the case please log in and commit them to the MAC Meet. See you at the pool, Coach Jason

RICE Aquatics has always been at the top of the team standings at Zones and would love to bring home the victory atWMST home pool. Swimmers of all abilities and ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions please talk to Coach Seth or Chris at practice.

Reminder of Weather.

Parents - Since it has been soooo long since any weather related practice issues here is a reminder of our procedures. If there is any closures of the pool we will try and get them out via email and the front page of the website, the blog andfacebook page.. Depending on the circumstance we can't always get the most up to date info out. If you have liked thefacebook page you should get an instant notification when something new is posted and this means the quickest way to an updates.

For any occurrence of lightening or thunder the pool will be closed for 30 mins and the deck will be cleared. If we are in the middle of practice we will take the kids to do some drylands or class room work. We do not have a ton of non-pool deck area but will do our best to keep the kids active and occupied until we are back in the water or it is time to go home. Please use your best judgment when leaving for practice and always check the website.

Practice Update

Parents and Swimmers - Due to an unforeseen pump maintenance at the pool late last night there will be no practice today for all groups. The situation is being addressed with a possible return of regular practice times on Tuesday am. We will be getting updates from the rec center later in the day and will email out and post on the front page of our website the status as soon as it is available.

A few last items for the final day of the meet

Parents - Based on the finish time from Saturday our volunteer hours in the online job sign ups will be short at least an hour. So we are in need of more hands on deck through out the meet. and later in the afternoon session. I would estimate a finish time after 6:15 pm. With this in mind we will need help the last 2 hours of the meet. 

With out singling anyone out or forgetting to give someone the appropriate praise I would like to thank the parents who have worked all three sessions so far and those who do not have a swimmer in the meet and worked tirelessly today. We have completed 3 out of 5 sessions of the meet and hopefully will be in the home stretch soon.

A couple items designated for Sunday's hospitality and concessions were placed out today accidently so if anyone would like to our can bring in a few baked good items (cookies, brownie, etc) or other food item we would be greatly appreciative. 

One last item is we are in need of people to help tear down the meet once it has concluded tomorrow night. The final tear down is the biggest one and we have one parent and myself signed up at this time.
