Coach Carly

Swimmers and Parents - The purpose of this message is to inform everyone that Coach Carly will be leaving the RICE Aquatics coaching staff in mid-June to begin medical school. She will be attending UNT-HSC, TCOM (University of North Texas - Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine) in July. The school is located in downtown Fort Worth and Carly's current interests are in Emergency Medicine and Osteopathic Research as well as physician missionary work.

Coach Carly has been a great asset to RICE Aquatics the past year and half since she joined the team post graduation from RICE. Her ability to teach while keeping the kids interested and excited about swimming has been a major plus to the program. All of us at RICE Aquatics would like to thank Carly for her hard work and dedication to all of our swimmers and wish her the best on her new endeavor in medical school.

Senior Swimmer gets ready for RICE

Senior RICE swimmer, Paul Chaguine has chosen to attend RICE University this fall. A senior at Lamar High School, Paul joined RICE Aquatics as a freshman and has progressed from Age Group 3 to the Senior groups. Over the past year and a half Paul has been lifeguarding at the Rec Center and teaching swim lessons in addition to being apart of RICE Aquatics. When not at the pool Paul was on the varsity tennis team, the robotics team and finished with a class rank of 10 out of more than 600 students. Paul's intended major is Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering with a focus in either material science or bioengineering. Paul intends on swimming with RICE Aquatics through the summer and transition into a master swimmer once school starts up. The coaching staff at RICE wishes him good luck as he transitions into college and looks forward to having him poolside over the next few years.
