Mardi Gras Meet

Parents - Please find the attached info for the meet this weekend. I have tried to fill in as much info as needed for the meet. Feel free to talk to a coach if you have any questions or a parent as we have many "veterans" going for a second year on this trip. Above all this is a great meet oppurtunity for our team to do a little travel and swim outside of Texas. The meet format is a little different than most we have been to, allowing a bigger group of our swimmers to attend the same meet. If you have a digital camera please bring it along and send me a flashdrive or CD with pics so we can post them on our website. I hope everyone has safe travel and I will see you at the LSU pool!

Meet Info:

"Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium will be located on your left. Park at either the W.T. Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium, the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse or Graham Hall lots. Parking is also available in the LSU Natatorium lot by taking left onto West Chimes Street.

Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium, the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse or Graham Hall lots. Parking is also available in the LSU Natatorium lot by taking left onto West Chimes Street.

Pool:
The pool is 50m with a 25yd diving well. We will be utilizing both pools during the meet and the diving well is for Warm Up and Warm Down only. We have 70 swimmers attending the meet so it is crucial that parents and swimmers follow the meet so they can talk to their coach pre and post meet. They have not designated how the division will be but it is typically ran with age groups being split in each pool. As soon as this info is relayed on the coaches meeting we will let the swimmers know which pool they will swim in for the meet.
The pool is older and does allow a draft inside. With the weather being brisk please bring extra towels, blankets, jackets and clothse for your swimmers. There is 50 meters of bleachers runnning on one side of the pool with open seating for chairs on the other. We will try and commondear an area of bleachers for our team but this is dependent on parent arriving early to occupy these seats. Things do get a little crowded so show up early and get a RICE space in the bleachers.
Heat Sheets:
The meet is pre-seeded so this is THE time to buy a heat sheet. It will have your swimmers heat and lane posted in it so you do not have to find their lanes on the wall.

Timeline:
The host team has not provided a timeline but the meet should fall within the 4 hour rule. Last 4 hours from the start of the meet.

Parade:
There will be a parade of athletes prior to the start of both Saturday sessions. We will have goodie bags for the swimmers to use during the parade but parents are welcome to supplement their children with extra beads and Mardi Gras themed goods. Just a reminder that there will be hundreds of kids parading and throwing beads and such so keep this in mind when sending them with anything expensive during the parade. We will be passing out t shirts to the swimmers to wear for the meet and parade. These will be available at the pool each session. All swimmers are recieving a T shirt and must wear it for the parade.

Social:
Coach May will have a 11 and younger kids social at the Perkins Row Movie theatre for Alvin and the Chipmunk Chipwrecked at 11:30 am. Swimmers should be accompanied by an adult and swimmers will meet outside the theatre at 11:15 am. Swimmers can not be dropped off with out parent supervision. The Warm Up time for Saturday PM is 3:25 so please have everything ready to head to the pool post movie.
